Ronald S. Kvitne, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in
sports medicine and the treatment of shoulders elbows and knees. He earned his medical
doctorate at the University of California in San Francisco before going on to his
surgical internship and residency at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.
After his residency, Dr. Kvitne completed his sports medicine Fellowship at the
Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Kvitne is an Associate Clinical Professor, Department
of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Kvitne is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a regular
contributor to medical research and education, having authored 31 publications and
6 book chapters, and facilitated 34 lectures. He is a member of a number of medical
societies, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons (AAOS), the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and the American Orthopedic
Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Kvitne is a qualified medical examiner and a Diplomate,
National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Kvitne is the team physician of the world champion Los Angeles Kings and the
Los Angeles Blades, and is an Associate Orthopedic Consultant for the California
Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Anaheim Ducks.
