Stephen J. Lombardo, M.D. specializes in sports medicine, shoulder, elbow and knees.
He earned his medical doctorate at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Lombardo completed
a surgical internship at the University of San Francisco and orthopedic residency
at the University of Southern California, where he later had a faculty appointment
as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Lombardo
completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. He is presently
team physician of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dr. Lombardo is a significant contributor in the medical professional community
and is a member of a number of medical societies, including the Los Angeles County
Medical Association, California Medical Association, California Orthopedic Association,
Western Orthopedic Association, International Arthroscopy Association and is a fellow
of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a former president of the
NBA Team Physician Society and NHL Team Physician Society. Dr. Lombardo has authored
more than 50 publications and has facilitated more than 100 lectures.
