Steven S. Shin, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the
hand and is the Director of Hand Surgery at Kerlan-Jobe. Dr. Shin earned his medical
doctorate at Brown University, where he also went to undergraduate and graduate
school. After medical school, he did his internship and residency at New York University’s
Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Shin completed a Combined
Hand and Upper Limb Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is
a hand consultant to the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings and Anaheim
Ducks. He holds a clinical faculty appointment at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery
at USC Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Shin is a regular contributor to the medical professional community and is a
fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and member of the American
Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has authored numerous journal publications and
book chapters, and has lectured widely.
